West Mercia Community Partnerships

We have been successful in our application for funding from West Mercia Community Safety Partnerships. This will allow us to deliver Virtual_Decisions in 10 schools across North Worcestershire. This includes areas such as Bromsgrove, Hagley and Rubery, Kidderminster, and Redditch.

You can find out more about Virtual_Decisions here. Alongside the student workshops, we also deliver a workshop for either teachers or parents.

Our Virtual_Decisions also supports the work of the Respect program that is currently being delivered in schools.

Why is Virtual_Decisions needed?

According to the Office for National Statistics, in April 2020, knife crime in England and Wales had increased to a new record high in 2019.

A few months before this report, it was also reported that knife crime in West Mercia had rocketed by 48 per cent in 2019, one of the biggest increases in the country.

Our Virtual_Decisions program is an early intervention and prevention tool that aims to raise awareness and reduce youth crime.

We are looking forward to working with a range of individuals to reach targeted Schools in North Worcestershire. These schools will be identified through the data received from the
Community Safety Partnership and the Council’s community safety teams.
